Daily Journal Continued May 14,1998, By-William Thomas Thompson Back to Baltimore for the 15th opening of AVAM's 4th.show This is a trying day as always when leaving and all the things that must be done before departure. Heading out of town with many small stops for one reason or another in taking care of business incuding a stop by the strawberry farm on highway290 near my home place at the Lynn farms. I purchased 4 gallons of fresh picked red ripe strawberries to give to friends along the way. My first stop was again in Black mountain,North Carolina to share this delicious taste with those attending the META convention at the Camp Rockmont Resort. I left instructions that these were to be eaten by Roger and his guest and to not just disappear into the kitchen to be buried in a back cooler somewhere. I drove then to Asheville nearby and stopped to eat dinner at the great Earthfare health food restaurant in the Westgate Shopping Center across the river near the entrance to North bound I-181 For Johnnson City,Tn and my route to take up I-81 to Washington through the Shenandoah Valley. The dinner was wonderful meatfree with cashew nuts, black olives, tiny corns, pinto beans, spinach and other vegetables grown all organic plus a glass of carrrot juice squeezed on the spot. If I lived here,I would eat here at least twice everyday. (Bless someone everyday by giving and expressing love.) I proceeded up the mountain higher and higher and at the very top was the East Tennessee state line,I could see the very end of the sun set. This beautiful way recently cut across this blue ridge mountain is surely a world wonder sight. After a long decent off the mountain and a brief stop at the new Hampton Inn,I was on my way in the dark of night to make miles toward Baltimore,I stopped near midnight South of Roanoke to rest my eyes at a truck stop and when I awaken I saw thick heavy blinding fog wet as could be and I could not see to drive out of the yard where I was parked. Use wisdom and not drive in fog or any dangerous condition. Did you know that all directions come from God? not only on a daily basis, but from the beginning of time. North,South,East and West comes from Bible days with Jerusalem being the center of all the earth. East is everything East of Jerusalem. Far East is Asia as we know it like China and India. West is everything West of Jerusalem like England and the United States. God promised Abraham all that land so far as he could see (or travel) in all directions but especially the West. The 10 lost tribes of Israel settled the West so that makes us Israelites. North is also every thing North of Jerusalem Like Russia and Western China. South is like everything South of Jerusalem like Egypt,Africa and South America. The magnetic compass points only to the North from any where in the world. All other directions are degrees off that one reference point of direction. Every ship that sails, every plane that flies uses one compass direction off of North and it has not ever failed. Due North and an omni direction of 360 degrees. Let us know who we are and where we are. I rejoice in the Lord for He is my creator and my Lord. I read His Holy Word and receive from Him daily the great inspiration to continue on my way of humble service. He is my Father. He is my Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ is Lord of all and it is He that shall come riding on a white horse bigger than these mountains. Daily Journal Continued May 15,1998, By-William Thomas Thompson As the shaky world leaders meet to talk peace in England while starving India test its nuclear bombs in a poplation of nearly 20 percent of the world's people second only to China,I drive on a North heading in heavy fog toward Harrisonburg and Washington,DC. I remenber all those little children in the community there that would enjoy the taste of field ripened stawberries while getting a good amount of vitanin C to keep them well from colds and flu. The Community of believers live together as a nation of New Test- ament worshippers independent of the modern church influence and practice daily worship in Hebrew tradition of songs and praise. I have visited here before as I spoke of earlier as a people that share all their wealth and blessings and open their houses to the needy of the street. They teach three eternal destinies of man. I am impressed with their serious dedication to God and to family. (Save us Dear Lord from this crazy world I pray!) I had breakfast at Shoney's in Christiansburg,Va.waiting for the fog to burn off. People like everywhere act in away that one may write a book about. One man was leaning with arm over the back of my side from the next hooth talking loud to his buddy and looking around at me. He finally said,"well,Im gunna get on out of here." Another man a table away blew his nose so loud the roof tiles I believe rattled. I get turned off with food seeing and hearing. I arrived on the Washington beltway about noon to be greeted by a major traffic jam that last hours. A cement truck had turned over in the South direction but I was blocked North bound so long like my luck would run without lunch. I arrived at the American Visionary Art Museum at about 4 P.M. then went on to The Gramercy Bed and Breakfast at 1400 Greenspring Valley Road,Stevenson,Md. 21153-0119,410-486-2405,they do weddings, parties and conferences. (The place is Baltimore's American Visionary Art Museum) Ann the owner went with me to the opening at American Visionary Art Museum, she drove her car and let me out in front then hunted a parking space finally parking in the building across the street beside the warehouse where the Atlanta show of folk art was going on for the weekend. We got to walk through there also just as we were leaving and they were closing. I had art showing in two of the booths,The Very Special Arts from Washington,D.C. and America O Yes also of Washington and Hilton Head. Joe Adams was showing my 5 Revelation peices 3x4 feet in his booth and Stephanie was showing a group from my Garden Of Eden series from the ones I did this year for their show that opened April 4th.1300 Connecticut Ave.NW in Washington. I was proud to see this work on display and to show the very pleasant Ann Pomykala. What a pleasure to be a guest in this marvelous English Tutor Mansion with Ann,Her huband and daughter who reminds me lots of our daughter Colleen. I love the gardens and the fact that they grow orangic vegetables here. (Jude 1-2,"Mercy unto you,and peace ,and love,be multiplied.") The opening of the new show was a great success. The title Love, Error and Eros brought out the town reception night, the entire museum was standing full of people including the sculptor barn and garden like thousands of moving figures with joy and interest in the art. Thank you Rebecca for showing my work for one year.
